On December 9, 2015 the Future Energy Forum was held in Paris, which had been organized by Astana EXPO-2017 National Company in collaboration with Nazarbayev University and with assistance of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in France and Kazakhstan’s Permanent Mission to UNESCO. The event brought together energy experts, top-level political representatives, heads of businesses, transnational companies and major international organizations, as well as Nobel Prize laureates, all sharing first-hand information about the latest developments in sustainable energy. Our President Shigeo Katsu and VicePresident for Innovation Kanat Baigarin had participated in this forum. NAZARBAYEV UNIVERSITY PARTICIPATED IN THE FUTURE ENERGY FORUM IN PARIS President Katsu stated that the forum today was part of a multi-stakeholder platform in the runup to Astana EXPO 2017. The next Future Energy Forum will take place in Astana in May 2016. “Let’s not always re-invent the wheel but rather build on best practices across the globe” he added. Mr. Kanat Baigarin, the Vice-president for Innovations of Nazarbayev University, noted the successful completion of the Forum: "We have managed to attract the leading energy and sustainable development experts, reputed scientists and thinkers to our Forum.

The valuable insights and recommendations of the Forum participants would lead to the development of a diverse and high-quality program of the main Future Energy Forum, which will take place during the EXPO period in 2017, and the content of the exhibitions flagship pavilion - Energy Best Practices Area (eBPa).
